Northwest SBDC Named 2022 SBDC MN Center of Excellence – Crookston Times

The United States Small Business Administration has named the Northwest Regional Small Business Development Center as Minnesota’s 2022 SBDC Center of Excellence. In recognition of National Small Business Week, the Minnesota District of the SBA will recognize its 2022 State Winners at local events in the coming weeks.

Hosted by the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, the Northwest SBDC is led by Regional Director Philip Knutson and provides one-on-one, confidential counseling to start-ups and existing businesses focusing on feasibility studies, market research, surveys, development of business plans, loans. , operational assistance and more in the Northwest 12 Counties region.

“Minnesota entrepreneurs are truly fortunate to be able to work with a strong network of small business development centers,” said Minnesota SBA district manager Brian McDonald. “And the Northwest SBDC team is leading the way with exemplary dedication to small businesses in their region, demonstrating expertise in a variety of challenging business issues.”

In addition to one-on-one business assistance, the Northwest SBDC offers exceptional business and IT training seminars and workshops to businesses and entrepreneurs throughout the region to enhance knowledge and increase the effectiveness of businesses in the region. In fiscal year 2021, it helped 811 small businesses and entrepreneurs, helping them access more than $17 million in capital and supporting nearly 1,600 jobs.

Celebrating NSBW, the SBA will co-host a free four-day virtual summit May 2-5, 2022, with SCORE, to honor the nation’s 32.5 million small businesses for their perseverance. This year’s summit will provide access to essential federal resources, educational workshops and networking to help our country’s entrepreneurs pivot and grow in the face of any challenge, seize new opportunities and ensure that the dream of starting a small business is within reach of every American.
