Diversity Initiative

In March 2019, US Bancorp launched an initiative to increase the number of women in senior leadership by addressing barriers to career advancement that female employees have reported to the company. As part of this effort, he expanded sponsorship opportunities with a focus on women and professionals of color.

Several corporate women’s sponsorship groups pair high-potential women with leaders one or two levels above them, and one program saw a 54% promotion rate among female participants in 12 months.

A revamped talent assessment process also provides targeted support for senior-level women, increased visibility to the leadership team, and opportunities for high-profile assignments and promotions.
